Economic Development

In 2021, The Western Ontario Wardens Caucus (WOWC) undertook their Workforce Strategy initiative to develop a resilient labour force to meet employer demand for 15 participating municipalities in Southwestern Ontario.  The project deliverables included a robust and very detailed strategic plan and market-ready toolkits. 

Our own brand marketing ‘Amplification Process’ suited WOWC’s three-phased project plan to a tee: Background Study, Consultation & Analysis, and Strategy & Implementation. 

As we undertook the research phase, we reached an important strategic insight – we needed to develop unique value propositions for each target audience. We created Planning for Prosperity, a synergistic sub-brand that would enhance the importance of this critical piece of the over-arching Workforce Strategy brand. Our research dissemination also revealed that the diverse composition of target audiences’ and their ‘hot buttons’ had changed significantly over the years.  

We defined those and then developed a detailed ‘needs assessment’ and humanized psychographic profile for each target that would enable WOWC stakeholders to emotionally connect with, and motivate, today’s workforces. We also realized we needed to create an easy-to-understand, plain language toolkit that started with an online digital solution, not one retrofitted from print applications. So we built it.

Results

Since the addition of the targeted microsite within the main WOWC site, page views have increased significantly. But was the client happy overall with our work? In their words… “As part of the team that delivered the Western Ontario Workforce Strategy (WOWS), Tracy and Amplify Communications ensured that the final product was user friendly and attractive. Our stakeholders have been most impressed by the microsite and the way the information has been presented in smaller ‘chunks’ making finding information incredibly efficient.”
